I have a beautiful baby boy and a wonderful, loving husband...but what am I without my Creator? Why did He put me here and what is His purpose in my life. He has given me a beautiful little boy to nurture, protect, and care and a husband to love, honor, and uplift. My God is an awesome God!
Yesterdays service was pretty life-changing. Sure...I go through the motions of reading, praying, and being nice to people, but didn't God put me here for another purpose? My husband is an amazing teacher to children who literally have no one to look up to except for this man that shows up everyday to help develop and nurture them. He is their stability. Have I wasted God's talents he has given me by watching too many movies, being too concerned about the latest gossip on tv, or by being too wrapped up in my own little bubble?
Today I prayed for direction...for God to look down on me and gently "shove" me where he would like me to serve. I have noticed a certain billboard on my way to work for the past several weeks and I always wonder..why does this keep popping up in my thoughts at the most random times? Is this a God thing..or pure coincidence...I would like to think the second option just because I am not sure that serving in that way would work out at this time in our lives...but if God opens the doors then who am I to turn that down?
I titled the post restless because every saturday morning on my way to work this song comes on the radio. It's by Audrey Assad...and everytime I have tears streaming down my face because I know that God is behind it all...He's "whispering in the dark".
This summer during vacation my mother-in-law was talking with me about her walk with Christ...she told me that we can't always look for someone to meet our needs or be what we need them to be...but that we can look to God because He can be and is everything that we need. I have been so blessed to have such a wonderful second Mom. She truly is a blessing in my life and my family's life.
Well, that's it for now...little Aiden is stirring from his nap :) Be blessed!
